One day I came home from school and almost tripped on my dog’s collar. I picked it up I remembered the first day we got him that collar. A mark ran across the side of it, and I still remember when he made that mark.
My dogs name is Joker. He is a ST Bernard mix great Pyrenees. While he’s at home he gets very lazy. Also he likes to be protective and terrify people on or close to our property. For example anybody that he doesn’t recognize he usually will bark at.
Today the whole entire family is getting together to watch the fireworks because it is July 4.Everybody arrived a little early so it wasn’t night yet. So we started passing the time until night by watching TV or playing games. Slobbering Joker was all over our guests with his tail wagging. Outside we could hear the fireworks starting to go off and noticed it was already night. So we all went outside leaving Joker to himself. Soon after we were outside we found out that wasn’t such a good idea. Because he was so scared, he started barking and crying so loud everybody in the world could hear. Never in my entire life did I think that a happy-go-lucky dog like Joker could get so scared. Once my parents had had enough of him crying and yelping I was sent to get him. It was not easy getting him to come out of his cage. But as soon as I grabbed the leash he came out of his cage. We walked outside. The first thing I wanted to do is have someone else hold his leash or tie him to a tree. When more fireworks started going off he wouldn’t stop pulling on the leash. What happened next is hard to put into words because it happened so quickly and surprisingly that it was a blur. Then a big firework so loud and big that Joker took off. Not being able to hold on I let go. Luckily Joker’s collar got stuck in a tree. After we went to get him we noticed a mark on his collar. And that is how Joker got the scratch.
